Waradah Australian Centre
Waradah Australian Centre is a theatre based attraction, art gallery, and retail located within The Lookout overlooking the spectacular Jamison Valley at Echo Point Katoomba. The Centre is the ideal location for domestic and international visitors to explore Australia’s rich and vibrant past in a story that encapsulates the Australian spirit. Across the atrium, Waradah’s art gallery showcases the talents of our Indigenous people through the display of quality, authentic artwork.
An Australian Story is a 25 minute live performance that explores some of the most significant events in Australia’s history through a plot driven narrative. Starting with the traditional Smoking Ceremony, the show is a combination of dancing, singing, live acting, and period costumes delivered on stage to backdrops recreated on 3 large screens. Other features of the show include the Dreaming Stories of the ‘Didgeridoo’ and the ‘Seven Sisters’ as well as facets of Australia’s colourful history such as the first landing, the Gold Rush, Ned Kelly and the ANZAC’s.
